Virtual and In Person EMDR Therapy & Intensives

    What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.

    • EMDR uses somatic techniques such a bilateral stimulation (BLS) ─ tapping, auditory tones, or eye movements ─ to accelerate the brain’s capacity to process and heal a troubling memory or distressing experience.
    • EMDR therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms. Ongoing research supports positive clinical outcomes, showing EMDR therapy as a helpful treatment for disorders such as anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, addictions, and other distressing life experiences (Maxfield, 2019). EMDR therapy has even been superior to Prozac in trauma treatment (Van der Kolk et al., 2007). Studies show that 3 sessions of EMDR therapy resulted in an 84% remission of PTSD diagnosis.
