Luke Chobanian (He/Him) – is a radiant and personable therapist at Sage Mind Psychology. Luke is currently practicing as a Licensed Masters Social Worker. He earned his masters degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston University. Luke has experience working across various age groups and community settings, specializing in providing client centered and humanistic therapy. Luke’s therapeutic style draws fromCBT and DBT techniques with a focus supporting a client in their growth and personal healing. Luke is an incredibly warm and charismatic person, with a true passion for experiencing life and culture. Luke is an LGBTQIA+ therapist, identifying as queer, and is very passionate about providing LGBTQIA+ affirming care.
Luke is experienced with working with individuals struggling through various mental health issues ranging from depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, emotional dysregulation, attention deficit disorder, addiction, and relationships issues. Luke has gained extensive experience over the years working with children, adolescents, adults, and families systems in various community mental health settings. In therapy, Luke utilizes a person centered approach, focusing on developing strategies for goal orientation, motivation, and empowerment. Luke is skilled in providing evidence-based approaches including: Trauma Informed Care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Creative Arts Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy to help support a client in treatment.
Luke’s genuine authenticity and warmth takes the stage to help a client feel more comfortable. Luke has a tremendous ability to motivate others in therapy through developing a strong therapeutic alliance. He helps guide clients through self reflection and growth through validation and encouragement in vulnerability. Luke can truly find the value and strength of every individual he works with.
