Talia Gold, LMSW

Talia Gold, LMSW (she/her) is a Licensed Master Social Worker at SageMind Psychology who provides therapy for children, adolescents, young adults, and families in Brooklyn Heights and virtually across New York and New Jersey. She specializes in helping clients navigate anxiety, emotional overwhelm, identity development, and life transitions with a balance of warmth and practical, skills-based support.

She is especially well-suited for clients who feel stuck, unsure how to put their experiences into words, or hesitant to start therapy, and are looking for a therapist who is approachable, supportive, and able to help them build real, usable tools for change.

Talia brings a thoughtful, down-to-earth presence to her work and creates a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves while also gently moving toward meaningful progress. Clients often experience her as easy to talk to, supportive, and quietly guiding when they feel overwhelmed or unsure where to begin.

Talia earned her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University and has experience providing therapy across a range of clinical settings. She works with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and periods of transition. She has a particular interest in supporting adolescents and young adults as they manage emotional intensity, identity exploration, and the pressures that come with growth and change.

She provides in-person therapy in Brooklyn Heights and virtual therapy for clients across New York and New Jersey.

Approach

Talia’s style is warm, collaborative, and grounded. She prioritizes building a genuine connection with each client so they feel safe, understood, and able to engage in the work at their own pace.

Her work integrates evidence-based approaches in a way that feels practical and usable in daily life. She helps clients better understand patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and relationships, while also developing concrete tools to manage distress, navigate challenges, and feel more in control.

She incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),   Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention - with her approach tailored to each client’s needs. She also integrates trauma-informed care, strengths-based work, and mindfulness-based strategies.

Clients often leave sessions with a clearer understanding of what they’re experiencing, along with tools they can actually use, whether that’s managing overwhelming emotions, communicating more effectively, or handling stress in a more steady and intentional way.
